Earn Trait Points on an Active Duty Operator
An Operator’s Dog Tag progression is tracked separately from your overall DMZ player level. Level up the Dog Tag to earn a Trait Point for that Operator. The official FOB guide lists Onyx III as the end of the initial Dog Tag track, with 18 points earned by that stage.
Spend points in the Active Duty menu. The three trees have visible Major Traits and randomized Minor Traits. Each branch gives you a choice, and selections lock in. An Operator can spend up to nine points in one tree.
Pick a tree that serves your role
Read the current in-game description before spending. For example, Call of Duty adjusted when the Warfighter Trait Possum can activate after launch.
- Warfighter has combat picks such as Combat Resistance. Consider it if you normally take point or enter defended rooms first.
- Scout has loot and information picks such as Container Looter. Consider it for an Operator who gathers materials or helps locate threats.
- Survivalist has recovery picks such as Faster Revive. Consider it if you usually cover a teammate’s retreat or revive.
Keep an Operator available for recovery runs
An eliminated Operator becomes missing in action. The Operators station lets you spend DMZ Cash to recover them with their Traits, while their lost gear has to be replaced. More Traits increase the recovery cost. At Onyx III, the Operator becomes eligible for Prestige.
Suggested roster: keep one lightly equipped Operator available for low-risk supply runs and invest in a specialist for the objectives you play most. That gives you a fallback if your specialist goes MIA.
